About this role

About CGN Contractor Growth Network is a digital marketing agency for high-end residential remodeling and design-build contractors. We run SEO, content, and digital strategy for contractors who want a predictable pipeline of qualified leads. We're a 15-person team, we have a podcast, and we're growing fast. The role We're hiring a Marketing & Paid Media Strategist to own two things: CGN's internal marketing and the paid ads strategy we deliver for clients. On the internal side, you'll run paid ads for CGN, drive qualified leads into our sales pipeline, and build CGN's brand into a consistent, measurable source of new business. On the client side, you'll own paid ads strategy and execution for contractors who purchase paid advertising as part of their CGN package — setting strategy directly with clients and through our CSMs, then directing CGN's internal team to build, launch, and manage the campaigns across Google Ads and Meta, built around CGN's client lead pages. This is a hands-on role with real ownership on both sides. You'll be the strategic voice clients hear directly — not just a name on a report — so this only works if you're as comfortable in a client conversation as you are inside an ads account. You'll manage one direct report, work closely with our CSMs, and report directly to Aly with clear pipeline and ROI numbers. What you'll own CGN Internal Marketing Develop and own CGN's annual marketing strategy — setting channel priorities, campaign direction, and growth targets tied to revenue goals Run paid ads for CGN across Google Ads, Meta, and YouTube — hands-on strategy, build, and optimization Own demand generation — filling the sales pipeline with qualified prospects through paid and organic channels Full-funnel strategy and execution — HubSpot as the foundation, built out across landing pages, email sequences, ad funnels, and additional platforms over time CGN's brand — positioning, messaging, and voice across everything we publish Content and thought-leadership direction: blog, social, video, email, events, and webinars Marketing reporting: pipeline contribution, cost per lead, CAC, and ROI by channel — reported to Aly The marketing budget One direct report (Media Manager) and outside vendor relationships Client Paid Ads Strategy Own paid ads strategy for clients who purchase paid advertising as a CGN add-on service Set and lead paid ads strategy directly with clients and through CSMs — Google Ads and Meta Direct CGN's internal team to build, launch, and manage client campaigns across Google Ads and Meta, built around CGN's client lead pages Monitor client campaign performance, identify optimization opportunities, and communicate results in plain language Ensure client paid ads strategy is aligned with their overall CGN marketing plan and lead generation goals What you'll bring 5+ years in marketing, with experience owning strategy or leading a team Agency background — you understand how agencies work and how to market one Hands-on paid media mastery across Google Ads, Meta, and YouTube — you build, manage, and optimize campaigns yourself, and you can speak fluently to how each platform's targeting, bidding, and algorithms have shifted over the past year A habit of staying ahead on both Google and Meta specifically — you can point to a recent change on each (an algorithm shift, new ad format, policy update) and how it already changed your approach, before a client asked Executive presence with clients — confident leading a call, translating strategy into plain language, and building enough trust that a contractor owner acts on your recommendation Experience making paid ads recommendations to clients — you can translate strategy into clear direction a contractor owner understands Comfortable owning full-cycle campaign execution for a live client roster — directing CGN's internal team to build, launch, and optimize, with you accountable for the result A track record of owning a lead-gen or pipeline number and hitting it Podcast marketing experience — you know how to grow an audience and understand the sponsorship and advertising landscape Funnel building experience — HubSpot proficiency required, with the ability to extend across multiple platforms Strong analytics skills and comfort with attribution — you know what's working and why Fluency with the tools we run on: Claude (AI), n8n (automation), and HubSpot Strong writing and editorial judgment, with a clear sense of brand and storytelling Experience managing people or external partners A genuine habit of learning — a newsletter, community, or course you're in right now, and something new you've tested in your own work in the last quarter A bias toward execution — you ship campaigns, measure them, and improve Nice to have Marketing experience in remodeling, construction, or another home-services or trades vertical Experience with podcast advertising and sponsorship deals Familiarity with YouTube channel growth strategy A visible habit of sharing what you're learning — a newsletter, blog, YouTube channel, or community where you talk about what you're testing in paid media How we hire Application and resume 15-minute phone screen Preliminary Zoom interview Strengths assessment Culture-fit interview Practical interview Reference and background check Offer What we offer $80,000–$95,000 base salary plus a performance incentive tied to pipeline contribution (OTE $95,000–$115,000) 25 PTO days + 11 paid federal holidays (36 total paid days off per year) 401(k) with up to 4% company match CGN covers 50% of health and dental premiums + fully covers life insurance Vision coverage and paid parental leave Full-time in our Charlotte office for the first 90 days, then hybrid — 3 days in-office Ongoing investment in certifications and professional development To apply Submit your resume, a brief note on a paid media campaign you've owned — what the strategy was, what you built, and what it produced — and one recent change on Google Ads and one on Meta that's affected how you approach paid strategy, plus how you adjusted each.
