Marketing Manager

HIGH END is a culture‑driven cannabis retailer in Rochester, NY, dedicated to elevating community, creativity and the customer experience. We are seeking a Marketing Manager who can lead our social media presence, shape our brand voice and support in‑store operations while collaborating closely with our Events team. This role blends creative leadership with hands‑on retail work, making it ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and understands cannabis culture. Role Overview The Marketing Manager will oversee HIGH END’s social media strategy, content direction and brand ambassador program while working 18-20 hours per week in-store. They will be cross‑trained in sales and fulfillment and expected to support the floor as needed — including multitasking between editing and fulfillment during busy periods. This role collaborates closely with: Event Coordinator — handles event execution, talent booking and on‑site coordination, setup and breakdown Partnerships Operations Assistant — handles outreach, vendor communication, staffing Brand Ambassador Leads — shared leadership structure Design Team — receives creative briefs from Marketing Manager The Marketing Manager provides direction and accountability but does not handle graphic design, outreach, or event execution. Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Social Media (Primary Focus) Develop and manage HIGH END’s social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Youtube and other platforms Create content direction and write creative briefs for the design team Capture in-store content, product highlights and lifestyle moments Post and schedule content, manage engagement and maintain brand voice Track analytics and report insights to leadership Collaborate with the Partnerships Operations Assistant and Event Coordinator on brand collaborations, vendor features and event-related content Event Collaboration Work with the Event Coordinator to align marketing with upcoming events Provide creative briefs for event promotion materials Identify desired partners, performers, or vendors for events Event Coordinator handles booking + talent relations Partnerships Operations Assistant handles outreach All collaborate on logistics Support content capture needs before, during and after events (as scheduled) Brand Ambassador Program (Shared Leadership) Work alongside other Brand Ambassador Leads to support the team Help train ambassadors on brand standards, product knowledge and content expectations Hold ambassadors accountable to attendance, professionalism and deliverables Coordinate ambassador involvement in marketing initiatives Provide direction and feedback In‑Store Operations (as needed) Support sales floor operations including customer service, product education and checkout Assist with fulfillment tasks such as order packing Multitask between editing content and fulfillment during high-volume periods Collaborate with store leadership to ensure marketing aligns with real-time store needs Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in marketing, social media, or content creation Strong understanding of cannabis culture and compliance boundaries Ability to create and edit photo/video content (basic editing skills required) Comfortable working in a retail environment and supporting operational tasks Excellent communication, organization and multitasking abilities Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams Leadership interest and comfort guiding a team Must be 21+ and able to meet NYS cannabis employment requirements What We’re Looking For Someone who is: Creative, proactive and culturally tapped in Comfortable switching between marketing strategy and hands-on retail work Excited about building a brand and community presence A natural collaborator who works well with multiple team leads Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple projects at once Pay: $20.00 per hour Work Location: In person
