Role Overview The relationship between employers and workers is more critical than ever. The Director of Content Marketing and Thought Leadership is essential in navigating this landscape. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our editorial content strategy, providing valuable insights in an increasingly competitive market. This is an editorial leadership position that entails setting vision, guiding a team of five, and ensuring Indeed's content stands out amid the rise of AI-generated materials. As part of Indeed's Content Centre of Excellence, you will report to the Senior Director of Corporate Marketing. You will focus on delivering high-impact and proprietary content grounded in data and designed to highlight meaningful industry conversations. Collaboration with our internal Hiring Lab will be crucial, as you transform specialized economic insights into compelling editorial material that employers genuinely need. Key Responsibilities Develop and refine the thought leadership content strategy across various platforms including LinkedIn, Substack, and newsletters.Collaborate with internal teams, including Hiring Lab and Marketing divisions, to enhance content reach and engagement, driving tangible commercial results.Utilize the Category Entry Point (CEP) framework to uncover storytelling gaps and create authoritative content that resonates.Establish content strategies that create momentum across channels, enhancing employer conversion rates.Lead the creation of expert-driven, data-informed editorial pieces while integrating AI capabilities to enrich content delivery.Oversee and nurture a team of five, fostering an environment that encourages innovation and excellence.Manage performance metrics and the team's objectives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and maintaining proactive cross-team communication.Qualifications At least 17 years of relevant experience, or 15 years with a Bachelor's degree, or 12 years with a Master's degree, or a PhD with 8 years of experience.Proven success in developing large-scale thought leadership strategies with measurable outcomes, specifically on LinkedIn and Substack.Experience leading editorial teams of 4 or more.Strong writing and editing skills with an impressive portfolio of engaging journalistic work.Deep understanding of brand voice and the ability to blend editorial integrity with commercial relevance.Data-driven and audience-focused approach to content strategy, with expertise in AI integration and optimization techniques.A visionary leader who exemplifies high-quality standards and collaborates effectively with research and data teams.Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this position is $128,000 - $192,000 for Tier 1 and $142,000 - $214,000 for Tier 2, based on skills and experience. Additional benefits include open paid time off, comprehensive health coverage, 401k plans, and equity incentives, among others.
